Dia De Los Muertos

Dia De Los Muertos, The Day Of The Dead, is a Mexican Holiday and its celebrated throughtout Mexico by the people of Mexican heritage. Day of the Dead in the United States begin Thursday, October 31st, 2019 and ends on Saturday November 2nd, 2019.

The Sketches below were inspired by The Day of The Dead and the iconic animated feature film “Coco” and “The Book of Life”

Amor – Dia de los muertos

This sketch was drawn three times before I was okay with it. Its a caricature of my girlfriend with a Day of the Dead Theme to it. If you are wondering what is drawn on the ears. . its Stickers and Seeds (Ear Seeds), time-release Acupuncture (:

Headdress – Dia de los muertos

Here is a little girl with a headdress on, which was real fun to draw. Notice how the ears are different size…I tend to not draw the ears the same, which is a personal choice I make when I sketch.

BlackHat – Dia de los muerto

This sketch should of had flowers all over the hat, but I didn’t add them. Maybe when I paint these digitally I may add some.

Turtle 1 – Dia de los muertos

Now I got carried away, and wanted to draw turtles with the Day Of The Dead Theme. I have to admit it was fun.

This Sketch was drawn loosely and I tried to keep me from drawing too tight as shown in the previous sketch.
